NBA Power Rankings
- Atlanta Hawks (27-8)- The hawks continue to pile on the high quality wins on the road- they’ve beat Dallas, Portland and The clippers on the road in the past 2 weeks. That is a recipe for a number one team.
- Golden State Warriors (28-5)- The warriors have bounced back to win their last four games after a shaky end to December. In doing so they surpassed the Mavs as the number one team in offensive efficiency.
- Portland Trail Blazers (27-8)- The injuries continue to hurt, but after every injury someone has stepped up from the once nonexistent bench to help the blazers keep winning. Aside from that, The Backcourt of Damian Lillard and Wesley Matthews are comfortably ahead of the splash brothers for most 3 pointers by a backcourt duo.
- Chicago Bulls (25-11)- the bulls are 10-1 in their past 11 and have been sweeping up the East. Oddly enough, Jimmy Butler shows flashes of a post-injury Derrick rose and is contributing the most statistically to the team.
- Dallas Mavericks(26-11)- The mavericks’ once helpless defense has been heavily aided by the return of Rajon Rondo, and their 6 game win streak can speak for it. They also have arguably one of the best starting fives in the league.
- Memphis Grizzlies (25-9)- Their 25-9 record looks good on paper, but they are only 4-3 without Zach Randolph and 5-5 in their past 10 games. A Randolph return could return them to the top of the western conference.
- San Antonio (21-15)- Their struggles as of late are more negligible due to them being against many of the better teams in the league. Their SOS is .602 over their last 10, but that doesn’t factor in streaking teams like the pistons.
- Phoenix Suns (22-16)- The Suns are one of the hottest teams in the league at aa time where many top teams are faltering. They are 8-2 in their last 10 and the two losses were by a combined seven points.
- Los Angeles Clippers (24-12)- The story has been the same for the clippers much of the season, as they have dismantled subpar teams while struggling against other teams in playoff contention.
- Toronto Raptors (24-10)- The raptors stumbled on what was possibly the most difficult road trip of any team in the league this year and lost their last three. The return of Demar Derozan will hopefully provide a boost to keep them in the discussion at the top of the eastern conference.
