Students standing out: Septembers students of the month

Because of her work within both Marshfield High School and the community of Coos Bay, Amelia Webster was given the November Student of the Month award. Webster stays busy throughout the year with various activities.

“I am involved in the Outdoor Adventure Club, Pacific School of Dance, Upbeats dance team, and National Honor Society,” said Webster.

Webster is also the vice president of the MHS Associated Student Body and has her hands full with planning assemblies and other school events. She has been an active dancer since she was three years old and is currently taking ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance classes.

Kate Miles is another November Student of the Month award receiver. This is largely due to her dedication to various clubs and sports. She can be seen in the National Honor Society and the MHS Charity Program and is the president of the Science National Honor Society. Miles takes her academics very seriously, with a few college-level courses.

“This year I’m taking medical terminology, anatomy, and college writing,” said Miles.

Aside from academics, she is an incredible athlete and has won a volleyball championship with her team previously this year. Miles also plays basketball and track and field.
