NBA Playoff Update

NBA Playoff UpdateEastern Conference

Atlanta Hawks vs. Brooklyn Nets: Atlanta leads 2-0

Atlanta has stayed in control of the series, though Brooklyn has showed some fight. Brooklyn needs to take the next two games in the series in order to stay alive. However, Atlanta is likely to win at least one of the two at Brooklyn and take the series in five.

Prediction: Atlanta in 5

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics: Cleveland leads 2-0

Behind Lebron James and Kyrie Irving the Cavaliers look poised to advance to the next round. Boston should be proud to make the playoffs, but the odds of winning the first round are steep. Look for Boston to win one game at home, and Cleveland to finish off the series.

Prediction: Cleveland in 5

Chicago Bulls vs. Milwaukee Bucks: Chicago leads 2-0

Derrick Rose is returning to prime form and the Chicago Bulls took both home games. However, Milwaukee is a strong young team and could take this series farther than most expect.

Prediction: Chicago in 6

Toronto Raptors vs. Washington Wizards: Washington leads 2-0

Washington shocked the world by winning both road games. However, the games were very close, and don’t expect the Raptors to lose easily. The Raptors will need to win the next game if they want a chance in this series.

Prediction: Toronto in 6

Western Conference

Golden State Warriors vs. New Orleans Pelicans: Golden State leads 2-0

Despite Anthony Davis’ best efforts, the Pelicans lost both road games to the Warriors. The Warriors are fresh off finishing with the best record in the NBA and look ready for a long run in the playoffs.

Prediction: Golden State in 5

Houston Rockets vs Dallas Mavericks: Houston leads 2-0

Houston has pulled away late in both games, but clearly looks to be the better team. Dallas is dealing with team turmoil, as Rajon Rondo has been benched and Chandler Parsons is out for the year. Dallas is a good team however, and should win a couple of games.

Prediction: Houston in 6

Los Angeles Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs: Series tied 1-1

The defending champs don’t go down easily. After being blown out in game one, the Spurs stole a game from L.A. in overtime. Expect this series to go the distance, and with two talented teams going at it, it could go either way.

Prediction: Clippers in 7

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Memphis Grizzlies: Memphis leads 2-0

The Blazers are hurt. Missing three solid roster pieces has not gone smoothly for the Blazers, and it has shown after two bad blowout losses to the Grizzlies. The Blazers season is likely over, barring a miracle.

Prediction: Memphis in 5
