Last Wednesday, Sept. 23, Fun on the Field took place at Pete Susick stadium following students’ regular classes. Fun on the Field is an event that includes an assembly, a fashion show from the homecoming princesses and their escorts and several games.
Senior Sawyer Heckard led the assembly, which introduced the homecoming princesses and later asked them to catch a football pass thrown by quarterback Gary Jantzer. Later the soccer teams participated in a relay race and the assembly ended with recognition of the school’s most “wacky” outfits for Wednesday’s spirit theme: Wacky Wednesday. Winners were awarded gift cards to Dutch Bros., Little Caesar’s and Taco Bell.
Field activities included bull riding, tie dye t-shirts, a jump-for-fun, a tug-of-war game, face painting and more.
Senior Kaitlyn James was one of several National Honor Society volunteers who helped at the tie dye booth. She said it was a big hit.
“We ran out of t-shirts in about 10 minutes,” James said.
Sophomore Maliyah Miller said she enjoys the tradition of Fun on the Field, and especially enjoyed the tug-of-war game.
