The cheer team is ready to get down tonight at the Civil War football game between North Bend and Marshfield.
Featuring a kid’s clinic, the team and children aged kindergarten through 7th grade will perform a dance to the song “Shake it off” by Taylor Swift during half-time. The team has been working on the dance for two weeks.
Senior captain Emily Burgey said there is a different routine for each age group.
“The more advanced kids who are 5th through 7th grade will learn a little more technical routine, while the younger girls will learn a more simple routine,” Burgey said.
More than 70 turned out to participate in the event, including two boys. The clinic was not only a fun event for kids, but a fundraiser to help support the cheer team.
“It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year,” Burgey said.
