The Marshfield Theatre Company performed the play 12 Angry Jurors on Nov. 20, 21 and 22 in the school’s drama lab. The theatre production was an adaptation of the play 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose. The play illustrates a jury deciding whether or not a 19 year old is guilty or if there is any doubt of killing his father. Every juror believes the young man is guilty, except one. This sets off a chain of doubt throughout the jury room.
Each juror was identified by a number, not by a name. The actors and actresses were in sync with their characters and paid close attention to making relevant facial expressions, such as showing disgust towards another character. They knew their lines well and had no monotone moments.
Intense scenes such as a juror lashing out and having to be restrained from attacking another and Juror #3 reenacting the stabbing, struck the audience with emotion. Overall, the play was excellent in all aspects from the actors/actresses to the makeup.
