The Civil War between the Lady Pirates and the North Bend Bulldogs is one of the most
anticipated games of the season, and with it being their first opening game, the pressure was on.
“It’s definitely a challenge at times but it’s also a really inspirational type of deal where I get to be the leader to these girls and they all look up to me, there’s a lot of pressure but at the same time it’s a lot of fun,” senior captain Tracee Scott said.
Scott may be the only senior on the team, but that didn’t stop the Lady Pirates from sweeping the floor in all three games with freshman, junior varsity and varsity against the Bulldogs. Coach Tammie Montiel expects to have a great season this year, even with such a young team.
“We are a good team, we have a lot of potential and a lot of skill,” Montiel said. “We also have a lot of room to grow.”
