The third ranked Pirate volleyball team swept Douglas by scores of 25-12, 25-20, and 25-18 to advance to 5-0 in the Far West League.
Senior McKenzie Allison led the team with 20 kills, along with 3 aces and 9 digs from senior Carli Clarkson.
“McKenzie Allison came out strong and had good kills,” Coach Tammie Montiel said.
This marks the half way mark of their undefeated season in the Far West League.
“We served tough,” said Montiel. “Although we missed more serves than we should have.”
Montiel said players were challenged by having to play positions they were not familiar with due to senior starter Hailee Woolsey not playing.
The Pirates travel to Brookings to start off the second half of league play against the Bruins on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m.
“Our goals this year are to win league and make it to state like last year,” Montiel said.
