After Tuesday’s away game against the rival North Bend Bulldogs the Pirates are first in league and are the only remaining undefeated team in the Far West League. The volleyball team beat the Bulldogs in three matches, winning 25-16, 25-15 and 25-22.
“We started off a little weak but we fought back and pulled ahead,” junior Hailee Woolsey said.
“It always feels good to beat the Bulldogs,” senior Paige Tavernier said.
Woolsey said she was glad they beat the Bulldogs, but wishes they would have won by more.
According to Woolsey, the group is playing well as a team, but can still do much better, starting with communication on the court.
Update: The Pirates also defeated Douglas in three sets, 25-16, 25-17 and 25-9 on Thursday.
The team’s overall record in league is 4-0. The Pirates are not only undefeated in league, but have not lost a set thus far and currently ranked fourth in the 4A state classification.
