The winter semi-formal came to Marshfield on December 9th. Not only was it open to Marshfield students 9th through 12th grade but it was also open to other school districts such as, North Bend, Bandon, Coquille and Reedsport.
Junior Kelsea Lockwood was looking forward to attending the winter formal.
“I’m super excited for the dance, I’m excited to dance with friends and see everyone all dressed up and to have fun,” Lockwood said.
According to Lockwood, she likes that students from other school districts were allowed to attend winter formal without a guest pass because more of her friends would be able to attend.
“I think there will be a lot of people going. I think it's awesome that Marshfield opens dances to other schools, because I have friends who go to other schools that I can't wait to see there,” Lockwood said.
Junior Sierra Cobb also said she has high hopes for the first ever winter formal at Marshfield.
“Yes this will be the first winter semi-formal I’ve been too. I think it’s going to be lots of fun,” Cobb said.
Cobb also thinks that opening up the dance to others is a good idea.
“I think it’s cool that Marshfield is opening up to other schools, it gives everyone an opportunity to have a good time with friends,” Cobb said.
According to Junior Jorney Baldwin she has never been to a winter semi-formal before and plans on attending with many of her friends.
“I might go with a boy, or maybe just a group of friends, or maybe even both, I’m not sure yet,” Baldwin said.
Baldwin said that students from other schools attending the dance can help Marshfield.
